About

Pixele is a small collection of free daily character guessing games. Every day at midnight UTC, each game picks a new mystery character from a different video game universe. You get a handful of guesses to figure out who it is, with each guess revealing how close you are based on attributes like type, role, rarity, and stats. When the day is over, the puzzle resets for everyone.

Where it came from

Pixele started as a side project. Like a lot of people, we got hooked on Wordle in 2022 and kept thinking about what made the format so sticky: one puzzle a day, no account, no downloads, no streak you could grind for by playing fifty rounds. The constraint was the point.

Around the same time, we noticed that almost every fandom we cared about had spawned its own Wordle-style spinoff, but most of them were rough around the edges: clunky inputs, broken on mobile, overrun with intrusive ads, or abandoned after a few months. We wanted one place where the puzzles felt polished, the controls were quick, and the daily ritual was the same whether you were guessing a Pokémon or a Clash Royale card.

The first version of Pixele was a single Pokémon-only build that launched on a weekend. The second game came a few weeks later, then another, and the project grew into the small lineup it is today.

Design philosophy

We try to keep three things true on every page:

  • One puzzle a day, the same for everyone. The whole point of a daily game is the shared rhythm. There is no "play again" button.
  • No account, no friction. You should be able to land on the homepage and play within five seconds. Streaks and progress live in your browser, not on our servers.
  • Each game tuned to its source material. Pokémon has more characters than Clash Royale, so it gets more guesses. Overwatch heroes have roles and abilities, so we surface those. The mechanics adapt to what makes each universe interesting.

The pixel-art reveal that gives Pixele its name is part of that. A blurred, low-resolution image gradually sharpens with each guess, so the silhouette of the answer is always there but never quite legible until you earn it.

What you can play today
